This pivotal role requires the candidate to be instrumental in the development, execution, and sustainment of the company-wide compliance culture. The role serves as a critical liaison between Shift4 Payments UK Limited and key regulatory bodies (e.g., FCA, HMRC), focusing on the seamless integration of all regulatory requirements across the entire business ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance and working closely with internal teams to manage complex compliance activities, ensuring the firm and operations and strategic objectives are achieved within a robust, compliant framework.

Responsibilities

  • Enhancing and maintaining the robust compliance framework for Shift4 Payments UK Limited.
  • Monitoring the regulatory landscape to identify new legal developments and assess their specific impact on Shift4 Payments UK Limited and its operations.
  • Developing, drafting, and formally endorsing internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and presentations on essential compliance matters for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Supporting the creation and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Program.
  • Leading and coordinating compliance regulatory projects, including conducting thorough gap analyses.
  • Managing various stakeholders and responsible persons to agree upon deadlines, ensuring timely follow-up and reporting on project progress.
  • Participating in Compliance Testing activities, identifying potential risks, proposing effective mitigating measures, and drafting formal compliance reports.
  • Conducting due diligence reviews on vendors utilising our designated third-party management system.
  • Ensuring timely and effective resolution of compliance issues and formal requests from regulatory bodies and relevant agencies.
  • Supporting the MLRO and Compliance Director with mandatory regulatory reporting obligations and information requests.
  • Upholding the company’s adherence to rules and regulations across compliance, governance, conduct, internal control, AML, and ATF.
  • Assisting in the annual review of the AML Business Risk Assessment by evaluating inherent/residual AML risks, analyzing new products, and assessing the effectiveness of existing controls.
  • Documenting analysis of new regulatory requirements and controls to be implemented to enhance overall compliance and AML capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge of the UK financial services sector and the regulatory framework (specifically the FCA).
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory and conduct risk.
  • Experience in compliance monitoring, policy development, and regulatory submissions.
