Overview of the role as a General Manager:

We\’re hiring a General Manager to lead our Cannock operation and take full responsibility for day to day performance, team management, and service delivery. You\’ll be in charge of a 50 strong workforce, managing everything from logistics and scheduling to client relationships and contract oversight. This is a senior leadership role with significant autonomy – ideal for someone who can combine operational rigour with strong commercial judgement.

Responsibilities as a General Manager:

• Oversee all site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely service delivery
• Lead and develop a diverse team across office, driver, and field staff functions
• Maintain high standards in customer service, health & safety, and compliance
• Manage key client relationships, including contract performance and renewals
• Analyse performance data to drive improvements in efficiency and cost control
• Oversee the planning and resource of removals, moves, and collections ensuring optimal use of people and vehicles
• Work closely with the board on strategic planning and business development
• Support ongoing improvements in systems, processes, and staff development

Experience needed to be successful in the role as a General Manager:

• Leadership experience in removals, logistics, transport, or similar industries
• Proven ability to manage large teams and deliver results through others
• Strong operational background with a focus on planning, delivery, and service quality
• Confident managing commercial contracts and maintaining key client relationships
• Highly organised, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure
• Comfortable working with high autonomy and reporting at board level
