About Shift

Shift pays everyday workers to record short videos of the tasks they already do (in kitchens, workshops, job sites, and warehouses) to help train the next generation of AI and robotics. We've paid out over $5M to 25,000+ workers across 15+ countries, and we're expanding into the skilled trades across the UK.

The Role

We're hiring a Field Acquisition Specialist to grow our network of trade businesses on the ground. You'll go door-to-door to local manufacturers, plumbers, electricians, machine shops, and other trades, and sign their teams up to earn supplemental income through the Shift app. You're not selling anything; instead, you're bringing these businesses and their workers a new way to get paid for work they already do every day. Your job is to find them, explain the opportunity, and get them recording.

What you'll do

  • Visit small trades businesses in person: manufacturing, plumbing, electrical, automotive, construction, and more
  • Pitch the earning opportunity clearly and handle questions and scepticism on the spot
  • Sign up business owners and their teams, distribute recording headgear, and walk them through downloading and setting up the app
  • Follow up to make sure new operators successfully record and submit their first uploads
  • Track your outreach, conversions, and active operators, and report back on what's working in the field
  • Share insights from the ground to help us refine the pitch and target the right businesses

What we're looking for

  • Person based in the UK
  • Comfortable approaching strangers and businesses cold, in person, and handling rejection without losing momentum
  • Persuasive and personable: you can explain a new concept simply and build trust quickly
  • Self-directed and reliable; you can manage your own day in the field without close supervision
  • Organised enough to track leads and follow through on onboarding
  • Reliable means of travel and willingness to cover your local area
  • Ideally experienced in door-to-door outbound sales
  • Bonus: existing relationships in or familiarity with the skilled trades

Why this role

  • An easy pitch: you're offering people money, not asking for it
  • Attractive compensation
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ground-floor opportunity at a fast-growing, well-funded startup featured in Forbes, Business Insider, The Verge, and more
