Company Description SHIFT Studios is an e-Commerce growth studio focused on creating world-class online shopping experiences that scale.
With over 50 years of combined experience, the team blends strategy, design, technology, and performance to build commercially focused solutions for ambitious brands.
As a certified Shopify Premier Partner, SHIFT Studios designs, develops, and optimizes high-performing e-Commerce websites across Shopify and Shopify Plus, from conversion-driven UX to complex back-end integrations.
The in-house team collaborates across the entire ecommerce ecosystem, working with leading platforms in loyalty, reviews, subscriptions, ERPs, and advanced integrations to deliver scalable, stable, and future-ready builds.
SHIFT Studios partners with growth-minded founders and teams across fashion, tech, food, luxury, and more, united by a commitment to craft, performance, and measurable results.
Alongside client work, we build and scale our own ventures. The most exciting of these right now is
- Cubby
- an AI-powered household food agent that turns a video of your fridge into a fully managed pantry, expiry alerts, recipes, and a weekly shop, all with one tap to approve.
Cubby is at an early, fast-moving stage, and this role will contribute directly to defining its product experience from the ground up alongside our client work.
Role Description As a Senior Product Designer at SHIFT Studios, you will lead end-to-end product and experience design across our work, from discovery and concept exploration through detailed interaction and visual design.
In this full-time remote role, you will collaborate closely with strategists, developers, and marketers to turn business goals and customer insights into intuitive, conversion-focused user journeys.
Your day-to-day will span two kinds of work. On the client side , you'll design and optimise high-performing e-Commerce experiences on Shopify and Shopify Plus — conducting and synthesising user research, defining UX flows, creating wireframes and prototypes, and crafting high-fidelity interfaces that align with brand and performance objectives.
On the venture side , you'll help shape Cubby's product: designing the magic-moment onboarding, the daily \"what should I do with my food\" experience, and the trust and control users need when an agent acts on their behalf — making something genuinely complex feel effortless.
You will participate in client workshops, present design solutions to stakeholders, iterate based on feedback and data, and ensure consistency across components and design systems.
You will also mentor other designers, contribute to internal design standards, and champion user-centered, evidence-based design practices across projects.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Strong product design capabilities, including Product Design and Design Thinking skills for translating business requirements into effective digital experiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in UX Research and User Research to uncover customer needs, validate concepts, and inform data-driven design decisions.
- Advanced Visual Design skills, with the ability to create polished, on-brand interfaces that support usability and conversion goals.
- Experience designing end-to-end e-Commerce experiences, ideally on Shopify or Shopify Plus, including responsive layouts and component-based design systems.
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e. g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and collaboration platforms used in remote teams.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, present design rationale, and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Track record of working in cross-functional product or agency teams, preferably with growth-focused or DTC brands.
- Comfort designing 0→1 product experiences in ambiguous, fast-moving environments - experience with mobile, AI, or agentic products is a strong plus given our venture work.
