Shift Pursuit is partnering with one of our respected clients with offices in Somerset West and Wellington to find a detail‑oriented, motivated, and reliable individual to join their growing accounting team.
Key Performance Areas:
- Accurate processing of financial transactions and maintenance of general ledgers up to trial balance
- Timely management of debtors and creditors, including reconciliations and payments
- Preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and EMP501 reconciliations
- Issuing IRP5s and supporting payroll‑related calculations
- Maintenance of up‑to‑date client and financial records
- Preparation of management reports and supporting schedules when required
- Ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations
- Effective use of accounting software (Sage, Xero, Pastel, SARS e‑Filing)
- Delivering high‑quality client service and building positive working relationships
- Meeting deadlines accurately and efficiently within a team environment
Requirements:
- Matric (a relevant accounting or finance qualification will be an advantage)
- Minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes
- Proficient in accounting software such as Sage Online, Pastel, and Xero
- Experience with SARS e‑Filing and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Afrikaans and English proficiency (verbal and written) preferred
- Reliable and professional with strong communication skills
- Own reliable transport
