Join to apply for the X-Ray Tech role at Shields Health. The Surgery Center-Shrewsbury is currently seeking a Full-Time OR Part-Time X-Ray Technician at the Surgery Center Shrewsbury. We are open Monday - Friday day hours.
In addition to X-Ray, this role will also cross train with other departments including Anesthesia Tech, Patient Care Assistant and Purchasing. Shields ASC has a legacy of outpatient imaging and ambulatory surgical services, with 30 years of experience in healthcare.
Through joint-venture partnerships with hospitals and providers, Shields leverages its value-based position to develop, execute and manage multi-specialty ambulatory care facilities. These facilities are designed to maximize profitability for our partners while delivering patient-centered medical services in an accessible location and at an accessible price.
Purpose and Scope: In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the x-ray technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
- Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
- Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
- Perform xrays in accordance to center’s protocol.
- Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
- Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
- Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
- Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
- Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
- Contrast administration
Educational Requirements
- Must be certified in CPR
- Must be MA State licensed
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 3 months of prior x-ray experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds. Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.
Internal/External Interactions
Extensive interactions with all customer groups, including patients, families, referring community and other SHC employees. Will also have regular interactions with contractors, vendors, and medical transport personnel.
