The Patient Care Representative will contribute to the goals of Shields Health Care Group by providing exceptional customer service with professionalism, efficiency and accuracy. The hours for this position are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday 6:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

What you will do:

  • Greet patients, collect necessary copay/deductible/coinsurance and explain the consent form to be completed.
  • Assist patients with iPad check‑in process, troubleshoot and provide feedback.
  • Recognise when language services are needed and utilise them.
  • Distribute films/CDs as required, while maintaining HIPAA and the Patient Privacy Policy.
  • Work in collaboration with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
  • Process outgoing and incoming U.S. and inter‑office mail and UPS deliveries.
  • Prepare set‑up for next day’s appointment schedule and communicate any potential issues.
  • Provide and respect confidentiality of all customer groups.
  • Verify and enter necessary information into our systems.
  • Respond appropriately to scheduling emergency patient situations.
  • Support Customer Care with machine utilisation by filling the template (Utilising waitlist, 1/1 and 7/4).
  • Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy, efficiency and in a professional manner.
  • Keep management informed of situations and conditions with potential impact on the company, particular department(s) or customer group.
  • Remain current on any changes in policies or procedures that modify daily work functions.
  • Maintain copay/petty cash accuracy and make daily bank deposits.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Work to maintain survey return rates in conjunction with company guidelines and goals.
  • Use workflow in collaboration with multi‑departments to ensure efficiencies.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required.
  • Attention to detail and typing accuracy required.
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to multitask and exceed customer expectations is required.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while simultaneously performing data entry and information intake via phone. Can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical office or healthcare administration courses preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology and insurance requirements is preferred.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay range for this position is $18–$29 per hour plus benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
