This role reports to the Associate Director, ESG Programs within the Business Assurance team. The Sr. Analyst will play a hands‑on role in designing, implementing and optimising IT systems for energy, carbon, water, waste and broader ESG management; designing decarbonisation strategies and facilitating their implementation across SHI. To reach these objectives, the successful candidate will partner with internal teams, suppliers, tech providers, and other external stakeholders. This position is based in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will be required to work at least three days per week from SHI’s London office. Occasional travel to other SHI offices or partner locations may be required (up to 5%).
Key Responsibilities
- Energy, Carbon, and ESG Systems Implementation: Lead or support the design, implementation and improvement of in‑house and external IT systems and tools for energy and environmental management, carbon accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), and ESG data collection. Work with IT, Operations, Finance, and external vendors to define system requirements, data models, controls, and integration points. Ensure data quality, auditability, and scalability to meet regulatory, customer, and voluntary reporting requirements.
- Decarbonisation Strategy and Planning: Design and implement practical decarbonisation strategies across offices, warehouses, data centers, and operations, with a focus on energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste and packaging, and business travel. Translate high‑level climate targets into actionable roadmaps, projects, and investment cases.
- Decarbonisation Advisory and Delivery Support: Partner closely with Facilities, Procurement, IT, and process owners to support delivery of decarbonisation initiatives. Monitor progress against plans and provide data‑driven recommendations to improve environmental performance.
- Reporting, Disclosures and Assurance: Support annual GHG inventories and preparation of high‑quality regulatory and voluntary disclosures on climate and environment (e.g., CDP, EcoVadis, customer requests). Coordinate independent assurance of energy, GHG and environmental data; contribute to the development of repeatable reporting processes, controls, and documentation.
- Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement: Partner with suppliers, service providers, and other external stakeholders to support data collection, decarbonisation initiatives, and system enablement. Respond to customer ESG requests and contribute to sustainability‑related commercial engagements.
- Bringing the Outside In: Monitor developments in ESG regulation, decarbonisation technologies, and digital ESG solutions. Benchmark SHI’s performance and systems against peers and best practices, and support executive briefings as required.
