Invertek Drives is a fast-growing global organisation dedicated to the design and manufacture of sophisticated Variable Frequency Drives, used to control motors in a wide variety of industrial and energy saving applications. Based at our Welshpool Head Office, Invertek Drives are seeking to appoint a Power Electronics Design Engineer, working as part of the Power Stage Design Technology team.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
- Design, simulation, analysis, and test of electronic and/or power electronics circuits.
- Experience of schematic design and PCB layout.
- Good working knowledge of AC motor control.
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
- Organisation skills with high attention to detail.
Advantage to have:
- Experience using Altium Designer for PCB design.
- Modelling and simulation of power electronics using MATLAB and PSIM.
- Knowledge of power factor correcting (PFC) circuits.
- Firmware development for DSP based motor control.
- Experience with EMC compliance testing and design especially conducted and radiated emissions.
- Master’s degree or PhD.
