Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated network engineer to support operations, mature processes, and scale the company’s network needs.

The engineer will work with a US-based network team and report to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Network Services.

This position may report locally out of any SHI UK location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Maintain network standards, policies, and best practices to ensure consistency, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative network technologies and solutions that drive operational efficiency and business value.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to maximize uptime.
  • Use network tools for administration, maintenance, automation, and reporting.
  • Provide support services to customers for specific IT-related issues.
  • Adhere to service management processes and procedures to meet SLAs and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Configure network equipment and execute changes following standard operating procedures and change/release policies.
  • Monitor services for availability and performance; assist with root cause analysis of outages or incident trends.
  • Provide onsite support for network project implementations, LAN/WAN turn-ups, testing, and related activities.

Qualifications

  • Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE4-6, PCNSE, etc. are highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data and converged network infrastructure, including: 802.1x, v PC, VXLAN, STP/OSPF/BGP, LAN/WAN/Wireless protocols, Network Management tools, F5 Load Balancers, VPNs, Palo Alto Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, and related technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NXOS, PANOS, STP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, and access-lists.
  • Experience with datacenter virtualization technologies and cloud network/infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
  • Experience with Cisco and similar VOIP telephony infrastructure; ability to troubleshoot end-user device connectivity at a firewall level.
  • Knowledge of 802.11 wireless principles and 802.1X/SAML/SSO implementation strategies.
  • Strong communication and client-service skills, both written and verbal.
  • Other Requirements
  • After-hours or weekend work for service-impacting changes or problems; on-call for networking emergencies.
  • Hybrid/remote schedule with short-distance travel to site offices.
  • This position will report locally out of SHI UK locations.

Compensation

The estimated annual pay range is £60,000 – £90,000, including base salary and bonus. Compensation varies based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
