We are looking for a Data Product Developer to help turn complex insight, modelling and research into intuitive, interactive digital tools. This role sits between UX/UI, data visualisation and light-to-mid digital development. It would suit someone who can design clear user journeys for data-heavy content, prototype interactive experiences, and work confidently with data, research and analytical outputs.
AI tools are now a central part of how we build. You will be expected to use them confidently, for code, for design, for prototyping and for documentation, and to help us decide which workflows to automate next. The scope of the role will change as we integrate and roll out new AI capabilities; comfort with that shifting picture matters more than mastery of any single tool today.
You will help build reusable dashboards, interactive explainers, policy tools, qualitative interfaces and model front ends, working across data, digital, economics, policy and qualitative teams.
What you will be responsible for:- You will build custom-coded interactive dashboards, data stories and tools using web technologies (JavaScript, D3 or comparable, React or comparable, HTML/CSS, mapping libraries where relevant).
- You will translate survey data, economic models, qualitative findings, and policy insights into clear, interactive interfaces with thoughtful UX and data storytelling.
- You will develop and maintain reusable components, templates and patterns aligned with our visual standards and brand guidelines, supporting a shift from one-off builds to a sustainable library.
- You will design intuitive user flows and layouts for data-heavy tools, focusing on clarity, structure and accessibility.
- You will deploy lightweight tools using services such as Netlify, ensuring what you build is reliable and reusable across teams.
- You will use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development, maintain consistency and reduce repetitive work.
- You will work across data, economics, digital, policy and qualitative teams to understand content and user needs, and partner closely with the Data Visualisation Lead to improve templates and reusable assets.
- 3+ years’ experience in a relevant technical, design or product development role.
- Solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Comfortable working with structured datasets and model outputs.
- Strong technical literacy and the ability to learn and adapt across tools, supported by AI-assisted workflows.
- Strong intuition for how users understand, navigate and interpret data-driven content.
- Ability to design clear, accessible flows for dashboards, tools and interactive explainers.
- Experience designing or critiquing data visualisations for clarity and accuracy.
- A productive, pragmatic relationship with AI tooling - you use it to learn, experiment and ship across tools you may not yet know.
- We are looking for someone who is curious, adaptable and motivated by the opportunity to use data and technology to solve real-world problems.
- You should be excited by the current pace of change in AI and data, and interested in helping us apply new capabilities in practical, valuable ways.
- You should enjoy working on a mix of projects, from client-facing analysis to internal tools, products, pipelines, models and automations.
- You should be a strong problem-solver, with the creativity to find better ways of doing things and the discipline to deliver reliable work in a fast-paced environment.
- You should be able to explain complex technical ideas in simple, clear language to colleagues and clients who may not have a technical background.
- You should care about quality, accuracy and clarity, especially when working with data that informs strategic decisions.
- You should be collaborative, pragmatic and willing to support colleagues as new tools and workflows are adopted across the business.
We have built strong foundations: group-wide visual standards, reusable components, branded templates, internal AI assistants and early interactive tools. This role provides the dedicated capacity to scale those foundations - turning prototypes into robust, reusable tools, creating consistent experiences across brands, surfacing economics, policy, qualitative and data insights in more accessible ways, reducing bottlenecks and duplication across teams, and accelerating client delivery in a more product-oriented way.

- 25 days annual holiday with additional office closure days.
- A discretionary annual bonus (potential of 15% of annual salary), based on personal and business performance.

- Private healthcare cover, inclusive of dental and optical.
- An enhanced family leave package.
- Bike and Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice schemes.
- An employee assistance programme with 24/7 access to online, phone or face-to-face counselling.
