This post is to provide effective hands-on operational supervision of the waste disposal and recycling team at the Council’s Gremista Waste Management Facility (Landfill Site, Sorting Shed and Civic Amenity / Recycling Site) and Rova Head Site (Transfer Station and Landfill Site) in order to provide a quality service. To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the services as stipulated by the Council’s waste disposal regulatory authority, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), by monitoring performance and meeting targets.
This vacancy is being advertised as a Career Graded post, which is a career development opportunity. This means that the Council is committed to supporting the successful candidate to obtain the necessary skills, abilities and knowledge to become fully competent in the role. The successful candidate will be supported to become fully competent in the role and progress through the career grade. Where there is a requirement to achieve a qualification, this will be fully funded by the Council.
