Adult Services (Learning Disability and Autism) provide a range of high quality care and support for adults with learning disability, autistic adults and adults with complex needs with assessed need. Adult Services (LD Supported Vocational Activity Service (Eric Gray @ Seafield); Short Breaks and Respite Service (Newcraigielea), the Assertive Community Transition (ACT) Service (intensive support) are Care Inspectorate registered services and part of Shetland Community Health and Social Care Directorate.
Adult Services (LD and ASD) use a range of best practice guidance and person centred approaches to provide support that recognises the rights of the individual to participate as meaningfully and as independently as possible. The Senior Social Care Worker – Supervisor’s role includes ensuring that individuals receive high standards of care and support in accordance with relevant legislation and national guidance associated with the service.
Senior Social Care Worker - Supervisors are responsible for providing support to individuals in a variety of settings, ensuring a high standard of service delivery of support to individuals to live well through their own strengths, skills, community, personal gifts and people who play a key role in their life.

- This post is not career graded.
- Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,997 per annum.
- Permanent Full Time post for 37.0 Hours per Week, 52.18 weeks per year.
- Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
- The successful candidate will have to complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when they begin in post.
- A relocation package does not apply to this post.
- We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland.
