Job Overview
To assist in the management and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN).
Responsibilities
- Work with any child or group of children within a department or a mainstream class.
- Collaborate with teachers, following guidance and the Individualised Education Programme (IEP).
- Coordinate with professionals and therapists such as Speech, Occupational, Physiotherapy and Child Psychology services.
- Provide support tailored to each child’s IEP, ensuring consistency across all staff involved.
Qualifications & Conditions
- Grade: F/G. Post is not career graded; successful candidates will be classified as Qualified or Unqualified Learning Support Workers.
- Pay: inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
- Contract: Temporary Part Time, 30.0 hours per week, 39 weeks per year plus 6.24 weeks (pro rata) paid holiday to be taken during school holidays. Duration approximately 12 months.
- Applicants must complete the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or an update prior to offer.
- UK visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
- No relocation package applies.
- Interview expenses will be covered within Shetland.
