Are you a natural leader who's just as comfortable coaching a team as you are keeping a diary of engineers running like clockwork? If you thrive on variety, enjoy solving problems on the go, and want a role where your leadership genuinely shapes the team around you, this could be the one.
The role involves working hand-in-hand with the Head of Department to keep our Fabric team performing at its best — and stepping up to deputise for them when needed. You'll lead a team of 3 who support approximately 20 field engineers scheduling work and creating quotes, balancing people leadership with hands-on operational delivery.
Day To Day, You'll:
- Support and develop your team through regular 1-2-1s, feedback, and individual performance plans
- Own the department's diary, making sure resources are used effectively and efficiently
- Run WIP reports and keep on top of the department's queries, losses, and open notes
- Work closely with Account Managers to ensure we're hitting our contractual SLAs and KPIs
- Help compile — and take part in — the operational on-call rota
- Champion Health & Safety, and be a visible, trusted source of technical and welfare support for your team
- Build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other teams across the business
It's a role with real variety — one day you might be reviewing weekly figures and holiday requests, the next you're out supporting an engineer or talking through a tricky client issue. No two days look quite the same.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships at every level
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and get the best out of a team
- A proactive, calm-under-pressure approach to problem solving
- Good IT skills, including confidence with Microsoft 365
- GCSE Maths and English (grade C/4 or equivalent)
- Experience in facilities maintenance and supervising a team would be a bonus — but what matters most is your ability to lead, take initiative, and work well with people from all walks of life.
You'll fit right in if you've got managerial courage, a quality-driven mindset, and a genuinely empathetic approach to the people you work with. And of course, you'll uphold what we stand for: being Adaptable, Committed, Honest, and Fun.
