Planned work with realistic schedules Trusted to manage your day once on site No micromanagement, no unnecessary pressure A business that hires ahead of demand, not after people burn out What you'll be doing Planned and reactive flooring work across client sites — from routine tasks and spot repairs to small projects Working with a variety of floor coverings, including vinyl, carpet and safety flooring Minor repairs to wooden sub-floor structures Estimating works, with full detail of scope and materials Accurately recording completed works and any follow-ups via our job management system Working to a realistic, pre-planned schedule, with out-of-hours and on-call duties as required What you'll need Experience as a floor layer, with knowledge of fitting a variety of floor coverings including vinyl, carpet, and cap and cove Experience within the facilities maintenance sector Strong communication and relationship management skills A proactive approach to problem solving, and a passion for passing on knowledge Carpentry and basic plumbing skills would be a distinct advantage GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 (or equivalent) A full UK driving licence Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS checkFloor laying qualifications or an apprenticeship, project management experience, and H&S training (e.g. IOSH) are all a bonus, but not essential. What you'll get Salary up to £34,320 depending on experience (realistic earnings nearer £40,000 when door to door travel is included) Company van + fuel card Overtime available (never forced) Why Sherwoods?
