Drive VAT compliance and shape smarter tax processes across multiple entities. You will own the preparation and submission of accurate VAT returns and reports, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Beyond the numbers, you will play a key role in onboarding new entities seamlessly and enhancing indirect tax processes and systems. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide clear, practical VAT guidance to the business while keeping ahead of regulatory changes, helping to maintain compliance, improve efficiency, and continuously strengthen how we operate.

This position can be based near our offices in Oxfordshire in the UK or in Poland or Germany. In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns for assigned entities, including extracting tax data, validating reports, reviewing invoices, and posting adjustments to ensure timely and compliant filings.
  • Manage Intrastat and EC Sales List reporting, analysing transaction data, correcting discrepancies, and submitting reports to relevant tax authorities.
  • Support the onboarding of new entities into the Indirect Tax function by mapping current processes and transitioning activities smoothly into the shared service environment.
  • Contribute to the implementation and optimisation of indirect tax systems (e.g. OneSource, Making Tax Digital), supporting business readiness and process improvements.
  • Monitor and interpret developments in indirect tax legislation, including regulatory updates, case law, and rate changes, recommending appropriate actions to maintain compliance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for VAT-related queries, providing clear, practical guidance to the business while ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulations.

What we are ideally looking for:

  • Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, AAT etc).
  • Fluency in both English and Polish is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of Polish Taxation is an advantage.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and targets with minimum supervision.
  • PC skills; MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other applications as required, with an emphasis on Excel skills (Macros, Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs etc.).
  • Experience with ERP systems preferably Oracle 11i, R12 and Cloud.
