Step into the role of a Regional Controls Engineer and become a driving force in overseeing the full lifecycle of control system projects, from planning and design to implementation and successful startup. Acting as an in-house consultant, the position supports sites with programming, troubleshooting, and system integration. Additionally, it ensures ongoing maintenance and manages obsolescence risks to maintain system reliability.
- Develop and implement new control systems for capital projects
- PLC programming under senior guidance, enhance existing control systems, including 24/7 support when needed
- Work with cross-functional teams (1-6 people) and manage budgets up to $1M
- Specify equipment, estimate costs, handle purchasing, and oversee installation
- Support system commissioning, create documentation, and ensure compliance
- Train interns, contractors, engineers, and technicians in automation and control systems
- Focus on safety, cyber risk management, and process control improvements
- Lead projects, make key control system decisions, and contribute to company standards
What we are looking for:
- BEng, BA, or BS in Engineering or a related field, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years in controls engineering with increasing responsibilities and project leadership
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects ($250K+), including design and execution
- Knowledge of chemical batch manufacturing, ISA S88 standard, and process safety management
- Experience applying cybersecurity solutions in ICS environments and ensuring compliance with NEC and other industry codes
- Skilled in AutoCAD, RsLogix 5000, RsFactoryTalk, MS Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- Certified in Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis, with experience in continuous improvement
- Familiar with RAGAGEP standards for industrial automation (ISA, IEC, PIP) and hazardous area classification
