Step into the role of a Regional Controls Engineer and become a driving force in overseeing the full lifecycle of control system projects, from planning and design to implementation and successful startup. Acting as an in-house consultant, the position supports sites with programming, troubleshooting, and system integration. Additionally, it ensures ongoing maintenance and manages obsolescence risks to maintain system reliability.

As Regional Controls Engineer your main tasks will be:

  • Develop and implement new control systems for capital projects
  • PLC programming under senior guidance, enhance existing control systems, including 24/7 support when needed
  • Work with cross-functional teams (1-6 people) and manage budgets up to $1M
  • Specify equipment, estimate costs, handle purchasing, and oversee installation
  • Support system commissioning, create documentation, and ensure compliance
  • Train interns, contractors, engineers, and technicians in automation and control systems
  • Focus on safety, cyber risk management, and process control improvements
  • Lead projects, make key control system decisions, and contribute to company standards

What we are looking for:

  • BEng, BA, or BS in Engineering or a related field, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years in controls engineering with increasing responsibilities and project leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects ($250K+), including design and execution
  • Knowledge of chemical batch manufacturing, ISA S88 standard, and process safety management
  • Experience applying cybersecurity solutions in ICS environments and ensuring compliance with NEC and other industry codes
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, RsLogix 5000, RsFactoryTalk, MS Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Certified in Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis, with experience in continuous improvement
  • Familiar with RAGAGEP standards for industrial automation (ISA, IEC, PIP) and hazardous area classification
