We are looking for a Product Stewardship Advisor to take a leading role in shaping regulatory strategy and product safety excellence across our consumer coating and polymer divisions in the EMEAI region. This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced product stewardship professional who is ready to act as a trusted advisor to the business, owning complex regulatory topics, influencing decision-making, and representing Sherwin‑Williams externally.

You will operate with a high level of autonomy, serve as a subject matter expert, and work closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal, and external stakeholders to ensure compliant, competitive, and future‑ready products. This position is ideally based working hybrid from our site in Sheffield, but could also be based at our office in Wokingham, Reading, with some travel to Sheffield.

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Compliance Support
  • Interpret and apply applicable regulations, developing compliance strategies and conducting independent impact assessments.
  • Act as subject matter expert for consumer product regulations and drive harmonised stewardship processes across sites.
  • Represent Product Stewardship with external bodies (e.g. trade associations, working groups) as required.
  • Own Safety Data Sheet (SDS) preparation and maintenance; review and approve regulatory content for product labels.
  • Support and improve regulatory systems, data integrity, and software alignment across sites.
  • Customer and Business Support
    • Independently resolve routine to complex internal and external customer regulatory inquiries.
    • Act as EMEAI single point of contact for regulatory, legislative, and product safety matters.
    • Support R&D, Marketing, Sales, and customers with strategic, regulation driven guidance.
    • Prepare responses to regulatory agency inquiries in collaboration with Legal and management.
    • Represent Product Stewardship in business and project meetings; maintain SDS portals.
    • Identify and drive process and system improvements to meet emerging regulatory requirements.
    • Lead complex product stewardship projects and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives.
    • Deliver training and awareness sessions on product stewardship trends and regulatory updates.

The skills and experience you will ideally have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. chemistry); Master’s preferred, ideally in polymer chemistry.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in product stewardship or regulatory roles (6 years preferred).
    • Strong knowledge of EMEAI chemical regulations, including REACH, CLP (EU/UK) and BPR.
    • Experience managing raw material and finished goods compliance and responding to customer inquiries.
    • SDS and label authoring experience; global and UK regulatory exposure preferred.
    • Background in paint & coatings, chemical industry, or consumer products advantageous.
    • Proficient with regulatory, formulation, and ERP systems; strong data analysis skills.
    • Fluent in English; product development and project management experience a plus.

    Our offer to you:

    • Work life balance – hybrid and flexible working schedule.
    • Competitive compensation program.
    • Company bonus plan.
    • Private medical insurance.
    • Company contributed pension.
    • Career growth opportunities in a truly international environment.
