Qualifications / ExperienceBSc Chemistry or equivalent STEM qualification. MSc, MChem or PhD desirable but not essential. Experience within coatings, chemicals, materials science or product development environments. Demonstrated experience of independently managing technical projects. Proven ability to analyse technical data and make sound recommendations. Experience working with customers, suppliers or external testing organisations desirable. Passive Fire Protection or Intumescent Coatings experience highly desirable. Sound understanding of experimental design and data interpretation. Effective project planning and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. Plans, designs and executes projects independently. Leads small to moderately challenging projects or significant aspects of technically challenging projects. Performs technically based investigations and effectively resolves issues using background research, technical expertise and prior experience. Analyses data, recognises anomalies and determines appropriate actions with minimal supervision. Maintains accurate project documentation, records and reports. Communicates project progress, risks and recommendations effectively to stakeholders. Collaborates with Operations, Procurement, Marketing, Technical Service and Certification teams to achieve project objectives. Supports product certification activities, external testing programmes and customer technical support activities. Demonstrates a personal commitment to the team through mentoring, coaching and supporting colleagues. Builds and utilises networks both inside and outside the department to drive project success. Works with and influences resources outside of the immediate group to achieve business objectives.
