Manage all aspects of the Global Fire portfolio Certification assessments and approvals. Lead a team to maintain all relevant certifications by region and support R&D teams with assessment support.
Responsibilities
- Organise and execute allocated project work within agreed deadlines, in accordance with procedures, test methods, assessment requirements and certification.
- Manage a small team to maintain global assessments, approvals and the Global certification and assessments portfolio for the SW PFP range, including employee performance, coaching, training and development.
- Conduct fire test data assessments, optimisation and certification activities to global standards (BS, EN, UL, ISO, AS), including R&D investigations into certification updates and changes.
- Create fire test packages in line with required fire test standards to support new product development and data extension programmes for the PFP portfolio.
- Present results, develop conclusions and propose further work, while advising the business through the Fire Strategy Group on global testing, assessment and regulatory challenges.
- Support the Fire Estimation and Engineering Team and internal/external customers with technical assistance, customer enquiries, competitor data management and maintenance of FIRETEX loading tables in the FDE portal.
- Represent the Company at test laboratories, industry committees and customer sites, including extended travel to support R&D projects, and support knowledge transfer across Sherwin-Williams.
- Ensure effective communication, high-quality output, consistent standards of excellence, and a proactive approach to H&S and security requirements.
Qualifications
- Formal Education: BSc/BEng Chemistry / Structural / Fire Engineering Degree
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Minimum of 5-10 years PFP Experience
- Experience of managing/supervising technical personnel or leading projects.
- Proven track record of commercial delivery.
- Ability to interact with customers (Internal and External).
- High level of Intumescent coatings knowledge (Essential).
- Experience of Passive Fire Protection testing, assessments and certification (Essential).
