Sherrardswood School is seeking two reliable, diligent, and proactive Housekeepers to join our dedicated team. These are important roles that help maintain the high-quality learning environment our pupils and staff enjoy every day. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to keeping our school safe, clean, and welcoming.
About the Position
- Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time + 4 Weeks
- Hours available: Two positions — 30 hours per week or 35 hours per week, applicants may express a preference when applying.
- Salary: £12.21 per hour
- Start Date: Immediate Start Available
About the Role
As a Housekeeper, you will play a key part in ensuring our school facilities remain clean, hygienic, and well maintained. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out daily cleaning tasks with accuracy and efficiency, including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and sanitising bathrooms and kitchen areas.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all assigned areas.
- Ensuring bins are emptied daily and recycling procedures are followed.
- Replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
- Supporting cleaning following school events.
- Assisting with deep cleaning projects during school holiday periods (Summer and Easter).
- Reporting stock requirements and any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (essential).
- Shows strong attention to detail and takes pride in their work.
- Is physically fit, with the ability to lift and move equipment safely.
- Has a friendly, positive approach and can communicate well with staff and pupils.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
