Reprographics & CAD Technician £35,000 + Bonus | 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Monday to Friday 8:00AM – 4:00PM or 9:00AM – 5:00PM, 1 hour lunch. This is Full-time, permanent role which is studio based.

A well-established folding carton packaging manufacturer is growing its pre-press studio and is looking for an experienced Reprographics & CAD Technician to join the team.

This is a growth role, not a firefighting one.

You will be working in a studio environment reporting to the Studio Manager, with the time and support to do the job properly working to the highest quality standards.

The Role

The position is repro-led, with CAD forming the second half of the job.

You'll spend the majority of your time as an art worker rather than on plate production.

Day to day you'll be

  • Preparing, amending & verifying customer artwork for lithographic carton production
  • Creating and maintaining dielines and packaging layouts in Artios CAD — both from scratch and from customer-supplied files
  • Carrying out trapping, step-and-repeat and imposition
  • Running barcode verification, artwork compliance and colour management checks
  • Preparing proofs and managing the approval process
  • Supporting CTP and plate production workflows
  • Liaising with designers, brand owners & internal production teams (you'll have Account Managers alongside you, so this is technical liaison rather than account handling)
  • Document control, file management and revision history
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within the department

What We're Looking For

  • Proven reprographics or pre-press experience, ideally from a folding carton, sample-making or wider packaging background
  • Strong working knowledge of Esko, Art Pro+ & Adobe suite (Illustrator & Photoshop) — these are the core requirement
  • Experience with Artios CAD, or a similar packaging CAD system
  • Familiarity with Global Vision or equivalent verification software (training available)
  • Sound understanding of the litho print process as applied to carton production
  • Confident with Pantone, ICC profiles, spot colour builds and brand guidelines
  • Genuinely detail-driven
  • Strong organisational skills and a calm, methodical approach to deadlines

This role would also suit a Packaging Technologist with strong artwork and CAD exposure looking to move into a dedicated repro position.

  • What's On Offer
  • £35,000, with flexibility for candidates who bring more to the table
  • Company bonus structure
  • 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Monday to Friday days, no shifts or weekend working
  • 100% office based — no travel to client sites
  • Genuine training & development, with the chance to grow within an expanding department
  • Supportive studio team under an experienced Studio Manager

This is a great opportunity to join a growing and well known brand.
