A well-established accountancy practice offering audit & compliance, tax advisory, management accounts, etc. Our client based in Ayrshire pride themselves on delivering high-quality service, cultivating strong client relationships, and supporting our staff’s professional growth.
Role Summary
You’ll be working in a practice environment handling client portfolios from compliance work through to advisory. Key duties include preparing statutory accounts, managing tax submissions, and delivering financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review year-end and interim statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
Manage corporation tax, income tax, VAT returns, and self-assessment submissions.
Produce management accounts and financial reports with commentary for clients.
Assist audit assignments or liaise with auditors, depending on firm structure.
Liaise with clients, resolving queries and advising where appropriate.
Supervise or coach junior accounting team members.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards (FRS 102, 105, etc.) and relevant tax law.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential & Highly Desired)
Experience working in a UK accountancy practice environment (Essential).
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or very near completion) is preferred.
AAT qualified or equivalent may be acceptable for candidates with strong practice experience.
Experience preparing accounts under UK accounting standards (e.g. FRS 102, FRS 105).
Comfortable using accounting software and strong Excel skills.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to interact well with clients.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple client engagements
