We are currently working with a well-established mechanical contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team based in Glasgow. This role will involve pricing and supporting a wide range of mechanical projects across Scotland. The Role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the tendering and pre-construction process, producing accurate and competitive estimates across a variety of mechanical projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical packages (HVAC, ductwork, pipework, plumbing systems)
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Carrying out full take-offs and producing BOQs
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Supporting the submission of competitive tenders within deadlines
- Liaising with internal project and commercial teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services sector
- Strong understanding of HVAC, ductwork, and mechanical installations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience producing BOQs and detailed cost breakdowns
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
