We are looking for an experienced Static HVAC Engineer to take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of mechanical and air-conditioning systems at a prestigious hotel near Tower Bridge. This is a full-time, site-based position suited to a multiskilled engineer with strong experience across wet systems, commercial air conditioning and plumbing. The successful candidate will help maintain a comfortable, safe and reliable environment for hotel guests and staff while delivering a professional service with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Maintain and fault-find commercial chillers and chilled-water systems.
- Service, repair and inspect fan coil units.
- Maintain VRV, VRF, split and multi-split air-conditioning systems.
- Complete temperature, pressure and performance checks.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigerant-related faults.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, pipework, strainers and associated controls.
- Complete plumbing repairs, including leaks, blockages, taps, toilets and sanitary fittings.
- Maintain air-handling and ventilation equipment where required.
- Identify defects and recommend remedial works or replacement parts.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and guest-room maintenance issues.
- Liaise professionally with hotel management, housekeeping and other contractors.
- Maintain accurate service records, asset information and maintenance reports.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety, F-Gas and site procedures.
- Keep plant rooms and working areas clean, safe and organised.
Essential Requirements
- Strong experience maintaining commercial HVAC systems.
- Proven knowledge of wet systems, including chillers and fan coil units.
- Experience working with VRV, VRF and split air-conditioning systems.
- Good plumbing knowledge and practical repair skills.
- Current F-Gas qualification.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
- Able to work independently and manage maintenance priorities.
- Professional and confident in a customer-facing hotel environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working in a hotel, hospitality or other occupied commercial environment.
- Knowledge of AHUs, ventilation, pumps, heating systems and BMS controls.
- Relevant mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning or refrigeration qualifications.
- Experience maintaining asset registers and completing electronic service reports.
