A leading ductwork specialist is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its growing team based at Crossways Business Park in Dartford. This is an office-based role offering the opportunity to manage projects from initial survey through to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and undertake accurate on-site measurements.
- Produce and review technical drawings using AutoCAD (essential).
- Manage projects throughout the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring quality, programme, and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee contract administration under both NEC and traditional forms of contract.
- Prepare cost plans, take-offs, and support value engineering initiatives.
- Monitor project margins and maintain commercial control throughout delivery.
- Develop and manage project programmes, resource allocation, and scheduling.
- Handle variations, final accounts, and contribute to overall project profitability.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Project Engineer or similar project delivery role within construction, building services, HVAC, ductwork, or a related industry.
- Strong AutoCAD skills are essential.
- Experience carrying out site surveys and taking accurate measurements.
- Knowledge of project and contract management, including NEC and traditional contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness, including P&L understanding, variation management, and final accounts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
