Are you experienced in ductwork, ventilation and CAD and looking for a role where you’re involved in projects from initial site survey right through to manufacture and installation? We’re recruiting a Ductwork CAD Engineer for a specialist ductwork contractor based in Dartford, working on projects across London. Previous ductwork / mechanical ventilation experience is essential.

The Role

  • Turning site measurements and project requirements into accurate, detailed drawings that can be used for ductwork manufacture and installation.
  • Carrying out detailed site surveys and measurements.
  • Producing 2D AutoCAD drawings and ductwork schematics.
  • Measuring and detailing ductwork routes around existing building services and obstacles.
  • Producing accurate information for the fabrication workshop.
  • Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure ductwork is produced correctly.
  • Understanding dimensions, offsets, bends, transitions, levels and clearances.
  • Supporting material and labour requirements.
  • Attending projects across London.
  • Working with site teams and subcontractors during installation.
  • Resolving design and installation issues as projects progress.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on ductwork / ventilation industry experience.
  • Strong AutoCAD experience.
  • Experience producing detailed ductwork drawings.
  • Site surveying and measurement experience.
  • Understanding of ductwork fabrication and manufacture.
  • Knowledge of DW144 / DW145 would be advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical and technical ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience within commercial HVAC / mechanical ventilation projects.

A formal engineering qualification isn’t essential — practical ductwork knowledge and the ability to produce accurate drawings are far more important.
