The predicted salary is between 40000 - 55000 € per year.

HOURS: Full-time, 9:30am – 5:30pm. Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch. A flexible approach to working hours is a must, overtime may be required at busy times. We currently operate a hybrid working policy with at least 3 days office working per week. Our hybrid working policy is discretionary and may be subject to change.

ABOUT THE TEAM
Sheridans Interactive & Creative media team is celebrated for its full-service offering to interactive entertainment and games clients, who include game developers, publishers, esports platforms, distributors, commercial production agencies, VR and AR companies and more. The work of the team is divided into 4 pillars: Advertising, Games, Fashion and Production. The team is well known for its expertise within the advertising, digital and interactive media industries and includes a number of recognised industry experts. The team continues to advise from start-up video and technology development companies to multinational developers and agencies on some of the most cutting-edge legal issues. The team currently comprises of 7 partners, 6 associates, 1 trainee solicitor, 1 paralegal and supported by 5 personal assistants.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our well-regarded Interactive team at Sheridans. The successful individual will be technically astute and has between 4 and 6 years of post-qualification experience within established City, specialist law firm or in-house practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing your own workload cost effectively and provide transactional and advisory legal advice on general commercial contracting matters, including intellectual property, consumer and data protection law to clients in a succinct, practical and persuasive manner. Drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements, including but not limited to:

  • Production agreements (commercial production, Film & TV, OOH entertainment)
  • Service agreements
  • IP licence and assignments
  • Terms and Conditions of sale and purchase
  • Consultancy and freelancer agreements
  • Distribution agreements
  • Franchise agreements
  • Non-disclosure agreements
  • Brand and Talent agreements

Assisting with the due diligence process on transactions and drafting and negotiation of commercial warranties and/or indemnities in transactional documents. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the Firm and the overall business needs.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Clear communicator with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers.
  • Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn and participate in business development activities

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a well-regarded University. Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales with between 4 and 6 years of post-qualification experience. An experienced lawyer having trained and worked within established practices. Substantial grounding and experience within a department handling interactive and creative media related matters and/or demonstrable post-qualification experience undertaking matters involving but not limited to:

  • Production (commercial production, OOH entertainment, VFX animation)
  • Advertising - Influencer and Social Media
  • Gaming and related technology (mixed reality and artificial intelligence)

A methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience liaising with senior internal stakeholders.
