Sheridan Maine are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client in Weymouth for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well‑established organisation, supporting their finance team during a busy period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely management and statutory accounts.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are up to date.
- Produce month‑end and year‑end reporting packs, including analysis and commentary for management.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
- Review and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
- Liaise with auditors and assist with audit preparation.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Experience preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, and supporting audits.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ideally trained in practice, with experience in a professional accounting environment.
- Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Location: Weymouth (some hybrid working may be considered)
