This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, provide a high-quality service and play an important role within a supportive and professional team.
The Role
As Accounts Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing the delivery of accounts and associated compliance work while acting as a trusted point of contact.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of limited companies, SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts.
- Reviewing VAT returns and other relevant compliance work.
- Managing client relationships and providing a responsive, professional service.
- Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and provide practical accounting advice.
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team and providing guidance where required.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Supporting Partners and senior colleagues with client work and wider practice initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value for clients.
To be a successful Accounts Manager you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice (minimum of 2 years).
- Strong experience across accounts preparation and client management.
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, although part-qualified candidates with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to build strong, long-term client relationships.
