Sheridan Maine is partnering exclusively with a leading manufacturing business based in Poole to recruit an FP A Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to develop their career within a high-performing finance team. The role would suit candidates with experience in FP A, commercial finance, finance business partnering, management accounting, financial analysis, or project finance.

Working closely with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholders, the FP A Analyst will play a key role in forecasting, business performance analysis, revenue reporting, margin analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making across major projects and operational areas.

Key responsibilities:

  • Producing weekly and monthly revenue, margin, and business performance reporting
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast processes
  • Delivering insightful financial analysis around project performance, profitability, and cost variances
  • Partnering with operational and commercial teams to support decision-making and improve performance
  • Supporting revenue recognition activities in line with IFRS15 / ASC606
  • Assisting with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and KPI reporting
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting strong financial controls
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, systems, controls, and finance processes
  • Developing and enhancing reporting tools using Excel and Power BI

About you:

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in an FP A Analyst, Finance Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst, Management Accountant, or Finance Business Partner position.

What we’re looking for:

  • Part-qualified or qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
  • Strong experience within FP A, commercial finance, or financial analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
  • Knowledge of IFRS15 / ASC606 revenue recognition principles
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, projects, or contract-based environments would be advantageous
  • Power BI experience would be beneficial
