Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working in partnership with a top UK accountancy firm to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join their growing team based in Watford, Hertfordshire.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a respected and well-established practice that prides itself on delivering outstanding client service and fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

The Role:
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multiple client payrolls across a range of sectors and complexities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and RTI submissions.
  • Administer auto-enrolment and pension contributions.
  • Manage starters, leavers, and adjustments including SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve payroll-related queries promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare payroll reports and maintain accurate payroll records.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a payroll role within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
  • Strong knowledge of current payroll legislation and best practice.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in payroll software (e.g. BrightPay, Sage Payroll, or similar).
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused approach.
