Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and complex group in Dorset to recruit a Financial Accountant into a key role within their finance function. This position plays a central part in the delivery of external and regulatory reporting, while also supporting audit, technical accounting matters, and ongoing improvements across finance.
This role offers remote / hybrid working, but to ensure smooth collaboration with the team and regular on-site requirements, applicants must be based in Dorset or Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys taking ownership and working to deadlines, the role also includes responsibility for developing and supporting an Assistant Financial Accountant.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of statutory accounts for a number of group entities, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Support the year-end audit process, responding to audit queries and acting as a key point of contact
- Assist with the preparation of group consolidated accounts for both management and statutory reporting
- Provide technical accounting support across the business, working closely with senior finance colleagues
- Coordinate and deliver a range of regulatory and external financial returns in line with statutory deadlines
- Support the preparation and submission of group VAT returns
