Audit & Accounts Senior Romford, Essex Accountancy Practice

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established accountancy practice in Romford, Essex, which is looking to appoint an Audit & Accounts Senior to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in their career, with exposure to a varied portfolio of clients and the opportunity to develop both audit and accounts experience.

As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will work closely with a range of clients, taking responsibility for accounts preparation and supporting the delivery of audit assignments.

Your responsibilities as an Audit & Accounts Senior will include:

  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients
  • Preparing management accounts and financial information
  • Planning and carrying out audit assignments
  • Completing audit fieldwork and documenting audit evidence
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Supporting the preparation of personal tax returns where required
  • Reviewing accounts and audit work prepared by more junior members of the team
  • Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
  • Identifying areas for improvement and providing commercially focused advice
  • Supporting junior team members with their development
  • Managing your workload effectively to meet client and statutory deadlines

We're looking for an experienced practice accountant who is confident working across both accounts and audit and enjoys building strong client relationships.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong accounts preparation experience
  • Previous audit experience
  • Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and relevant legislation
  • Experience preparing corporation tax computations
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Good communication and client relationship skills
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or equivalent experience
