Sheridan Maine is working with a leading Top 100 accountancy practice in Exeter to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, collaborative and forward-thinking team of multi-discipline tax advisors and gain exposure to a wide range of corporate tax assignments.
As a Corporate Tax Senior, you will support both corporate tax specialists and the broader team, managing assignments of a compliance and advisory nature. With a diverse client base and variety of work, this role offers broad experience and excellent opportunities for personal and career development. A flexible hybrid work pattern is available.
Responsibilities of the Corporate Tax Senior include:
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns, and support advisory work including capital allowances, R&D claims, tax due diligence, and transaction/restructuring reports.
- Assist in the development of junior staff through day-to-day support and mentoring.
- Conduct tax technical research for wider projects.
- Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives for the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, HMRC, and other professional advisers to deliver exceptional client service.
- Collaborate with audit colleagues on annual tax assignments.
The successful Corporate Tax Senior:
- 2+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance.
- ATT/CTA or ACA/CTA qualified (or part-qualified with relevant experience and interest in completing CTA).
- Strong up-to-date technical knowledge of corporate tax.
- Awareness of compliance standards imposed by regulatory authorities for tax and audit.
- Commercially astute, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
