Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established accountancy practice based in Basildon, Essex to recruit an Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take ownership of client work within a supportive and professional environment.
The role: You will manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients, preparing financial statements and supporting audit engagements. The position offers hands-on experience across a range of clients and sectors, with opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility.
Your key responsibilities as an Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior will include:
- Leading or supporting audits and client engagements.
- Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of clients.
- Assisting with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and VAT returns.
- Reviewing and mentoring junior staff (for senior level).
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
The ideal Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior will have:
- An ACA/ACCA qualification (or part-qualified for semi-senior level).
- 2 years’ experience within a practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
