Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a dynamic and supportive organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant into their Financial Reporting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to progress their career within a values-driven business. The role is initially offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with remote working available and occasional visits to one of their regional offices. You’ll play a key role in the month-end process, helping to produce accurate and insightful financial reporting while partnering across the organisation to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the production of monthly management and annual statutory accounts.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Preparing and posting journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to support financial planning and reporting.
- Interpreting and presenting complex financial data in a clear and concise way.
What we’re looking for:
- AAT Level 4 qualified or currently studying towards CIMA / ACCA / ACA.
- Experience working in a finance function with exposure to management accounting.
- Excellent Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas).
- Strong analytical mindset with the confidence to question and improve processes.
- Effective communicator who can build relationships across finance and non-finance teams.
