Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a dynamic and supportive organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant into their Financial Reporting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to progress their career within a values-driven business. Initially on a 6 month fixed term contract, remote working available with the occasional visit to one of their regional offices. You’ll play a key role in the month-end process, helping to produce accurate and insightful financial reporting while partnering across the organisation to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant will include:
- Assisting in the production of monthly management and annual statutory accounts
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Preparing and posting journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to support financial planning and reporting
- Interpreting and presenting complex financial data in a clear and concise way
What we’re looking for:
- AAT Level 4 qualified or currently studying towards CIMA / ACCA / ACA
- Experience working in a finance function with exposure to management accounting
- Excellent Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas)
- Strong analytical mindset with the confidence to question and improve processes
- Effective communicator who can build relationships across finance and non-finance teams
