An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established finance team in Bournemouth on a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home). This role sits within the management accounts function and will play an important part in delivering accurate reporting, financial insight and support to operational teams across the business. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing financial reports, analysis and KPI insights to support operational and strategic decision making.
- Acting as a finance partner to operational teams, helping them understand performance and identify opportunities.
- Supporting the month-end close, including posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Preparing the initial monthly management accounts pack for review by senior finance leaders.
- Analysing large data sets to identify trends, variances and areas for improvement.
- Supporting the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
- Building strong relationships across the business to help translate financial data into meaningful insight.
Skills and Experience Required
- Part-qualified or recently qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
- Strong Excel capability, including working with complex spreadsheets and large datasets.
- Previous experience in a management accounting or commercial finance role.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator who can explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
