Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established Central London accountancy practice to recruit a Tax Manager. This is a hands-on, client-facing role offering the opportunity to manage your own portfolio, lead tax compliance and advisory work, and support junior team members in their development.
The Role
As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of tax services to clients, ensuring high-quality, timely advice and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients and providing proactive tax advice as a Tax Manager.
- Overseeing preparation and review of corporation tax, income tax, and related filings.
- Advising clients on tax planning opportunities, reliefs, and structuring.
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing technical guidance.
- Liaising with HMRC and other external stakeholders regarding client matters.
- Supporting partners with client meetings, advisory projects, and business development.
- Mentoring and developing junior staff within the tax team.
The successful Tax Manager will possess:
- ACA/ACCA/CTA (or equivalent) qualified.
- Proven experience in a tax-focused role within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate and personal taxation.
- Experience managing client relationships and supervising junior team members.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, client-focused approach.
