We are working with a growing organisation based in Central London who are looking to appoint a Payroll Officer on a 6‑month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity to join a busy finance team within a supportive and fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll data across multiple payrolls
  • Support the collation and validation of payroll information from internal teams
  • Ensure accurate processing of starters and leavers, including relevant adjustments and documentation
  • Support payroll approvals and ensure all required sign‑offs are obtained
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll journals and reconciliations
  • Support pension administration and monthly submissions to providers
  • Maintain timesheet data and support payroll inputs and updates
  • Respond to payroll‑related queries from employees and stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, both electronic and paper‑based
  • Support compliance with statutory payroll requirements and reporting obligations
  • Assist with payroll reporting for finance and HR as required
  • Carry out additional duties as required to support the payroll and finance function

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a payroll role (ideally 2–3 years)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and basic UK payroll legislation
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
