Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working in partnership with a fast-growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Oxford to recruit a Client Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career, build their own client portfolio, and develop within a supportive and high-performing team. The practice works with a wide range of clients, including ambitious owner-managed businesses, property investors, and high-net-worth individuals, and is known for its proactive, personal approach and strong client relationships.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for managing a developing client portfolio, with guidance and support from senior team members as you progress toward full ownership.
  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A), sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Preparing corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns.
  • Managing VAT returns and advising on VAT treatment.
  • Producing accurate, well-structured work ready for senior review.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Communicating proactively and managing client expectations.
  • Developing technical knowledge across a varied client base.
  • Staying up to date with regulatory changes, including Making Tax Digital (MTD).

This is a development-focused role, designed for someone who wants hands-on experience, client exposure, and clear progression. You will be trusted with responsibility early on, while receiving strong support to help you grow.

About You

  • Recently qualified and motivated accountancy professional.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (full membership).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong accounts preparation experience across multiple entity types.
  • Confident preparing corporation tax computations and self-assessment returns.
  • Good understanding of VAT.
  • High attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues.
