Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant / Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their Finance team based in Christchurch offering a hybrid working model. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to take on a key role within a busy and supportive finance function.
About the role
This Senior Accounts Payable Assistant position will take responsibility for a broad range of end-to-end purchase ledger and accounts payable duties, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate matching to purchase orders
- Coding, posting and entering invoices
- Managing supplier queries and resolving discrepancies relating to pricing, quantities and invoice issues
- Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure smooth Accounts Payable operations
- Processing a variety of payment runs
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations and investigating outstanding items
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes within the finance team
- Supporting junior Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger team members where required
About you
To be successful in this Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger role, you will have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role
- Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes within a finance function
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with suppliers and internal teams
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload
You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
