Sheridan Maine is partnering with a leading business based in Hampshire to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional with manufacturing experience to join a large organisation in a key role, supporting financial performance across a specified business area.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, the Management Accountant will play a key role in producing variance analysis, costing, forecasting, month-end reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
This role works closely with the wider business, and you will act as the key finance contact supporting manufacturing operations, delivering meaningful analysis and insights.
Key responsibilities
- Producing daily, weekly, and monthly variance analysis reports
- Supporting month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing and maintaining standard costing processes
- Supporting forecasting and producing a range of financial analyses
- Partnering with operational and cross-functional teams to improve financial performance
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting
- Assisting with working capital management and process improvements
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a Manufacturing Accountant, Cost Accountant, Management Accountant, or Commercial Accountant role within a manufacturing or similar environment.
The ideal Management Accountant will
- Be qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA, or be close to qualification
- Have previous experience within a manufacturing accounting environment
- Possess a strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis
- Have advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- Be confident presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Have experience working with ERP systems
- Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Have a proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
