Senior Finance Analyst

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established Business Services organisation based in Southwest London, which is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a predominantly remote role, with an expectation to attend the Southwest London office once a month.

The successful candidate will ideally be part-qualified or qualified through significant relevant finance experience and will have strong technical accounting experience, particularly across group and statutory reporting.

The role is available for an immediate start, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take on a varied role within a collaborative team.

The Role

Reporting into the wider finance function, you will play an important role in the month-end, management reporting and budgeting processes, while providing financial support and analysis to budget holders and key stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities as Senior Finance Analyst will include

  • Supporting the preparation and distribution of monthly management accounts, including month-end reporting, variance analysis and P&L reviews.
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journals and control accounts, ensuring financial information is accurate and complete.
  • Supporting group and statutory reporting requirements and contributing to month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Managing and reviewing payroll, pension, expenses and other employee-related accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with budget holders to provide financial information, analysis and guidance.
  • Managing overhead reporting and reviews, including investigating variances and supporting budget managers with queries.
  • Coordinating cross-charges and cost allocations, ensuring these are accurately processed and reconciled.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with SAP R3 month-end and year-end processes, journals and financial reporting.
  • Providing financial insight and responding to ad hoc queries and requests from stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting appropriate controls and authorisation processes across supplier, payroll, expense and pension payments.

The successful Senior Finance Analyst

  • We are looking for an experienced finance professional who can demonstrate:
  • Part-qualified accountancy status or significant relevant finance experience.
  • Strong technical accounting experience, ideally including group and statutory reporting.
  • The ability to work independently in a predominantly remote environment while contributing effectively as part of a wider finance team.
  • Availability to start ASAP.
