Sheridan Maine is partnering with an innovative and growing business based in Dorchester to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant to take ownership of key financial processes, provide valuable commercial insight, and support business decision-making within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.

Working closely with senior finance stakeholders and wider business teams, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management reporting, driving financial performance analysis, and ensuring the smooth delivery of month-end and reporting activities.

The Role

  • Leading the month-end close process, including preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments and financial adjustments
  • Producing monthly management accounts, reporting packs and key performance indicators
  • Preparing insightful management information and supporting board-level reporting
  • Analysing financial performance, identifying trends, and providing commentary on key variances
  • Reviewing departmental budgets, forecasts and expenditure to support effective financial control
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Providing meaningful analysis to help drive business performance and decision-making
  • Delivering ad hoc reporting and commercial analysis to support wider business initiatives
  • Working collaboratively across the finance function to improve processes and enhance reporting capabilities

About You

  • Qualified or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Proven experience within a management accounting environment
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes, financial reporting and analysis
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial data
  • Strong analytical ability with the confidence to interpret and communicate financial information
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
