Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in Kent for a Personal Tax Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and progressive practice, managing a varied portfolio of clients while delivering both compliance and advisory services.

Working with high–net–worth individuals, business owners and families, you'll play a key role in providing tailored tax advice, identifying planning opportunities and building long–term client relationships.

As Personal Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include

  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high–net–worth individuals, directors and business owners.
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of self–assessment tax returns.
  • Delivering personal tax advisory services, including tax planning, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and succession planning.
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing commercially focused advice.
  • Managing HMRC correspondence, enquiries and disclosures.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and acting as their first point of contact for personal tax matters.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the tax team.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and ensuring clients receive proactive advice.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have

  • CTA qualified, ATT qualified with significant experience, or ACA/ACCA qualified with strong personal tax expertise.
  • Previous experience in a personal tax role within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation, particularly relating to high–net–worth individuals.
  • Experience of both compliance and advisory work.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify tax risks and planning opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship–building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
