Sheridan Maine is seeking a qualified or qualified by experience Practice Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in North Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to work with a diverse portfolio of clients in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will be responsible for managing your own client portfolio, preparing statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT returns, and management accounts, while providing practical financial advice to businesses across a range of sectors.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Complete personal and corporate tax returns
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Produce management accounts and financial reports
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support clients with accounting and tax queries
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting standards and HMRC requirements
  • Support and mentor junior team members and help with client queries
To be considered for the role, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage is desirable
