Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established organisation based in Central London, who are seeking an experienced Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit to join their finance function on a 16-month contract. This is a key role responsible for overseeing statutory reporting, audit processes and regulatory compliance, while providing leadership and support to the wider finance team.
Responsibilities of the Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit:
- Lead the preparation and review of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process
- Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and compliance submissions
- Maintain strong financial controls and support continuous improvements to processes and procedures
- Provide technical accounting guidance and stay up to date with relevant reporting standards and legislation
- Oversee tax-related reporting requirements, including VAT and corporation tax compliance
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors and external advisors
- Lead, support and develop members of the finance team
The successful Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit will have:
- Strong experience in statutory reporting, audit management and financial controls
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and working with regulatory requirements
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP experience would be advantageous)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Previous team management experience
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
